Now is the topical event the "Venus" of Schwaben (of the Jura period), made of ivory.

This Low Paleolithic combination of a (dancing) shaman/mammoth/elephant seems to give a clue. His legs are also the tusks of the mammoth (ivory). The mammoth seems to move his foreleg in a slowly walk. At the same time the shaman is "dancing", maybe for the big migration and return of the mammoths/elephants. Undoubtedly the calves are playing an important role in this (fertility-item; the shaman's holding an egg in his right hand). The space between the legs is also a surface to work on, maybe to shape very small tools (of ivory), like f.i. needles etc.
